The Callback

May 8–9, 2026

The Callback was an original psychological drama written and directed by Brayden Hade, exploring ambition, perception, and emotional survival within the machinery of Hollywood casting. Set inside a high-powered Los Angeles casting office, the play followed Jason, a brilliant but emotionally detached casting executive whose carefully controlled worldview begins to unravel when an overlooked actress refuses to fit the narrative he has constructed around talent, success, and worth.

Blending sharp industry satire with intimate character drama, The Callback examined the systems that determine who gets seen, who gets ignored, and the emotional performance required to remain “legible” in an image-driven culture. The production featured minimalist cinematic staging, stark visual design, and psychologically charged performances that reflected TheatreSourceLA’s commitment to bold, actor-driven new works.
